ClinConnect Summary
The "Bounce-Back From Depression" trial is studying new ways to help people with recurrent depression. It looks at two different approaches: one is group mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) delivered through online sessions, and the other is a supported self-help version of MBCT that includes a manual and some group support sessions. These options will be compared to standard treatment, which usually involves medication. The goal is to see which method helps patients stay well and avoid relapses of depression over a year, while also looking at costs and other factors that might influence the effectiveness of these treatments.
To participate in this study, individuals must be over 18 years old and have a history of recurrent major depressive disorder with at least two previous episodes. They should also have internet access and be able to read and write in Spanish. Participants can expect to be randomly assigned to one of the treatment groups or the standard care group. Throughout the study, researchers will check in with participants and gather information on their mood, well-being, and quality of life. This trial is important as it aims to find effective ways to support people struggling with depression, especially those at high risk of relapse.
