Cognitive Impairment Moyamoya Disease

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding how moyamoya disease affects thinking and memory. Researchers want to identify what might lead to cognitive decline in patients with this condition. They will use brain imaging to look for areas that may be damaged and study changes in the brain after a treatment called cerebral revascularization, which aims to improve blood flow to the brain. The goal is to see how these changes might relate to improvements in thinking skills.

To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 60 years old and have been diagnosed with moyamoya disease through a specific brain imaging test. Participants will need to sign a consent form agreeing to take part. However, people with certain other health conditions or who cannot undergo brain imaging will not be eligible. Those who join the trial can expect to undergo brain imaging and cognitive assessments to help researchers understand the relationship between brain health and cognitive function in moyamoya disease. The study is currently recruiting participants, so there are opportunities to get involved.
