ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking to find out if listening to music can help reduce anxiety more effectively than a medication called midazolam for obese patients who are going to have spinal anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia is a type of pain relief used during surgery. The study will also check if listening to music is safe by monitoring things like blood pressure and heart rate. The main question is: Does music or midazolam work better to calm patients down?

To participate in this trial, you must be an adult over 18 years old with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30, which generally means you are considered obese. You will need to agree to receive spinal anesthesia and consent to be part of the study. However, if you have certain medical conditions or speak a language other than Greek, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to listen to music or receive midazolam before your procedure and help researchers understand which method is more effective at reducing anxiety.
