Exercise Performance Metabolic Testing Education Carbohydrate Adolescent Female Athlete

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how providing education about carbohydrate intake, along with individual metabolic testing results, can change the way female adolescent athletes think and feel about eating carbohydrates. Many young female athletes do not eat enough carbohydrates, which can affect their performance and health. The researchers want to find out if just teaching them about the importance of carbohydrates is enough or if showing them personalized test results will have a bigger impact on their attitudes and beliefs.

To participate in this study, you need to be a girl between the ages of 13 and 19, currently involved in a sport at IMG Academy, and willing to fast overnight before your metabolic testing. You should also be able to understand and agree to the study's requirements and have parental consent if you are under 18. Participants will receive education and may undergo testing that looks at how their bodies respond to exercise. This trial is an opportunity to learn more about nutrition and how it can help enhance athletic performance.
