ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to manage pain after surgery for women undergoing an open total abdominal hysterectomy, which is a surgery to remove the uterus. The researchers want to see if using an ultrasound-guided rectus sheath block, which is a type of nerve block that helps numb the area, is as effective and safe as giving morphine directly into the spinal area (intrathecal morphine) for pain relief after the surgery.

To participate in the study, women aged 18 to 65 who are in good health (ASA physical status I-II) and scheduled for this specific surgery may be eligible. However, those with certain health issues, allergies to local anesthetics, or conditions that could affect pain measurement won't qualify. If you decide to join, you can expect to receive one of the two pain management methods and will be monitored for safety and effectiveness. The trial is currently recruiting participants, so it's a great opportunity to contribute to important research on pain management after surgery.
