ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two medications, lidocaine and dexmedetomidine, to see how well they help manage pain for patients undergoing a specific type of surgery called video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). The goal is to find out if using these medications individually or together can improve pain control during and after the surgery.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and in generally good health, as indicated by their American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) status, which assesses physical fitness for anesthesia. However, people with certain health issues, such as severe heart or respiratory problems, or those who have recently used strong pain medications or drugs that affect the nervous system, will not be eligible. If you join this trial, you can expect to receive either lidocaine, dexmedetomidine, or a combination of both during your surgery to help manage pain. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders within the age range of 18 and older.
