ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to explore how retirement education affects the planning and quality of life for individuals aged 50 and older who are nearing retirement. The study will use a specific approach based on Meleis's Transition Theory, which focuses on how people adapt to significant life changes. Researchers want to see if this educational program can help improve participants' views on retirement planning, financial matters, social connections, health, and lifestyle.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be over 50 years old, able to read and understand the material, and not have any communication disabilities that would make it hard to participate. Those who have already received similar retirement training won't be included. Participants will attend a one-hour class each week for six weeks, complete a survey before and after the classes, and then fill out a follow-up survey a month later. It's important to note that if a participant misses two or more sessions or retires due to a disability during the program, they may be removed from the study. This trial aims to help individuals feel more prepared and satisfied as they transition into retirement.
