ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying new treatment methods for people who have trouble swallowing, known as dysphagia, after having a stroke. Dysphagia can make it difficult for individuals to eat and can lead to serious health issues. The trial aims to explore the effects of two specific treatments: physiological manipulation and surface electrical stimulation. The goal is to see how these treatments can help improve swallowing abilities in stroke patients.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between the ages of 30 and 65 and have been diagnosed with dysphagia following a stroke. Those with other serious conditions, like Parkinson's or Alzheimer's disease, and people who use certain medications or have a history of drug or alcohol use will not be eligible. Participants will be divided into three groups, each receiving a different treatment over a 12-week period. At the end of the study, researchers will compare the results to see which treatment worked best. This trial is important for finding better ways to help patients who struggle with swallowing after a stroke.
