ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the role of corneal nerves in people with Dry Eye Disease (DED). Researchers want to understand how the health and function of these nerves are affected by problems with tear production and the overall condition of the eye surface. They are also looking to see if these factors change depending on how severe someone's dry eye symptoms are.
If you're between the ages of 65 to 74 and have been diagnosed with dry eye disease, or if you do not have dry eye disease, you may be eligible to participate. Before your first visit, if you wear contact lenses, you'll need to stop using them for a week. During the study, you'll be asked not to use certain eye drops or makeup on the day of your examination. Participants will help researchers learn more about dry eye disease, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
