ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new approach to quickly detect deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which is a condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of the legs. Researchers want to see if a machine learning-based tool, combined with a quick test called point-of-care D-dimer, can help exclude DVT in more patients than the standard methods, which include a laboratory D-dimer test and an ultrasound scan. This study is important because it could lead to faster and more accurate detection of DVT, helping patients receive timely treatment.

To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have been referred to the emergency department due to suspected DVT. You should be able to give informed consent, meaning you understand what the study involves. However, if you are currently taking blood-thinning medications for more than 72 hours or if you have a life expectancy of less than three months, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo some tests to help determine if you have DVT, and your involvement will contribute to improving how doctors diagnose this condition in the future.
