ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different methods of pain relief after hip surgery, specifically total hip arthroplasty, which is a common procedure for patients with hip arthritis (also known as coxarthrosis). The researchers are comparing two types of pain relief techniques: the suprainguinal fascia iliaca block (SFIB) and the pericapsular nerve group block (PENG), alongside the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block (LFCN). The goal is to see which method is more effective in reducing pain, decreasing the need for opioid medications, and helping patients regain movement and strength after surgery.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be scheduled for a total hip replacement due to hip arthritis and be between the ages of 65 and 74. However, some people may not be eligible if they have certain health issues, such as nerve problems, kidney or liver disease, bleeding disorders, allergies to anesthetics, prior surgeries on the same side of the body, or difficulties with mental understanding. Participants can expect to receive one of the pain relief methods during their surgery and will be monitored afterward to see how well they are managing pain and recovering. The study is currently recruiting participants and aims to improve pain management strategies for hip surgery patients.
