ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to help veterans and others who have lost a lower limb by exploring a new way to choose and use prosthetic feet. The main goal is to see how selecting a prosthetic foot based on what the user prefers can improve their satisfaction and mobility. Participants will get to try out different types of prosthetic feet to find the one they like best. After that, they will participate in a personalized physical therapy program tailored to their chosen foot. The study will measure how this approach affects their ability to walk, balance, and overall satisfaction before and after the therapy.
To be eligible for the trial, participants should be adults aged 65 to 74 who have had a single amputation below the knee for at least six months. They must also have a well-fitting prosthetic socket and be able to walk safely for the study activities. Participants will not be included if they have had major amputations on the other leg or are currently receiving therapy for walking or using a prosthetic. Throughout the trial, participants can expect support and guidance as they work towards improving their mobility and overall quality of life.
