ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a combination of exercise and sensory training can help people who have experienced nerve injuries in their arm and hand. The researchers want to find out if doing regular exercise, like riding a stationary bike, can improve sensations and reduce pain for these patients. They believe that exercise might help boost a protein called BDNF, which is important for nerve growth and health. This study aims to see if a 6-week exercise program can make a difference and if it can lead to a larger study in the future.
To participate, you need to be an adult over 18 who has had a nerve injury in your arm or hand, treated at Södersjukhuset between 2010 and 2025. You should be between 14 days to 15 years post-injury. During the study, participants will engage in 30 minutes of exercise twice a week, followed by sensory training to help retrain the brain. There will also be some blood tests and evaluations to measure pain and sensory function. The trial is not yet recruiting, so more details will be available soon for those interested in helping to advance our understanding of nerve injury recovery.
