ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how walking speed changes after knee replacement surgery, also known as knee arthroplasty. The researchers want to find out if measuring how fast and how comfortably people can walk can help us understand their recovery and physical abilities after the surgery. They will invite people aged 55 and older who are scheduled for this surgery and can walk independently, to participate in the study. Participants will be assessed before surgery, three months after, and again at 12 months after surgery, using simple tests and questionnaires.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be at least 55 years old, live near Oslo, and speak Norwegian well enough to follow instructions and answer questions. Those who have knee surgery for reasons other than arthritis, or have certain health conditions that affect walking, won't be able to join. This study aims to provide valuable insights that could improve how we monitor recovery and help patients regain their physical function after knee replacement surgery.
