ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different tax structures on retail marijuana products affect how much marijuana people choose to buy. The researchers will follow two groups of participants: adults aged 21 and older who have used marijuana in the past month, and younger individuals aged 15 to 20 who might be likely to use marijuana. Over four years, they will collect information on marijuana use through surveys and choice experiments, where participants will select how much of different types of marijuana products—like flowers, edibles, and concentrates—they would buy under various tax scenarios. This will help the researchers understand how taxes influence marijuana consumption.

To take part in the study, adults must be at least 21 years old and have used recreational marijuana recently, while younger participants must be between 15 and 20 years old and show some likelihood of using marijuana. Participants can expect to answer questions about their usual buying habits and make choices about purchasing marijuana products in a simulated shopping environment. The trial is looking for honest responses to better understand consumer behavior. It's important for potential participants to know that there are risks associated with purchasing illegal marijuana products, such as penalties and product quality concerns. The study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome, regardless of gender.
