ClinConnect Summary

The PELFISPORT trial is a research study looking at how different types of sports, like equestrian sports, CrossFit, and gym training, affect pelvic floor health. Pelvic floor dysfunction can lead to issues such as urinary incontinence (leaking urine), pelvic organ prolapse (when pelvic organs drop), and chronic pelvic pain. The study will involve adults aged 18 and older who have been participating in their chosen sport for at least two years and train a minimum of twice a week. Participants will fill out an online survey that asks about their sports experience and any pelvic health symptoms they may have.

This study aims to gather information about how participating in these sports might influence pelvic health for both athletes and non-athletes. By comparing the experiences of different groups, the researchers hope to raise awareness about pelvic floor issues in both men and women. If you’re interested in participating, you’ll need to sign up voluntarily and complete the survey, but please note that the study is not yet recruiting participants.
