ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how treating sleep apnea with a device called CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) can help improve blood sugar control in people who have diabetes or prediabetes. Sleep apnea is a condition that disrupts breathing during sleep, and it affects many people. The researchers want to find out if sticking to CPAP treatment, along with addressing short sleep duration, can lead to better blood sugar levels for patients. They will study a group of 600 patients over 18 months to gather important data about how well they use CPAP, how their sleep improves, and how these factors relate to their overall metabolic health.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, and you must be planning to use CPAP for treatment. Unfortunately, if you do not speak Swedish or if your doctor thinks you are not fit for the study, you won’t be able to join. If you do take part, you can expect to be closely monitored throughout the study to help researchers create a personalized treatment plan that could improve your blood sugar control while managing sleep apnea.
