ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring a new way to check for upper tract urothelial carcinoma, a type of cancer that affects the kidneys and ureters, using a procedure called flexible ureteroscopy. This study will look at whether this procedure can be safely done in an outpatient setting, where patients do not need to stay overnight in the hospital. The main goal is to see how successful this procedure is when done with local anaesthesia (numbing medicine) instead of general anaesthesia. The researchers will also monitor how many patients experience complications, need to return to the hospital, and how they feel about the procedure afterward.

To participate in this trial, you must be 18 years or older and have had kidney-sparing surgery for this type of cancer. Unfortunately, if you have specific allergies, are on certain blood thinners, or have structural issues in your urinary tract, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you will undergo the ureteroscopy in a comfortable outpatient center, and your experience and any side effects will be carefully recorded. This pilot study will recruit 10 participants to help determine if this method is safe and effective.
