The Pennington Generation Cohort is a research study looking at how lifestyle and the environment affect the risk of obesity and health issues in families from Louisiana. This study will involve families who will be assessed on different traits and behaviors at the beginning, and then they will be followed over time to see how these factors influence their health.
To participate, you need to be part of a family with children, teenagers, or young adults up to age 24, or an adult aged 25 or older who is expecting a baby or trying to have one. All family members must be residents of Louisiana and able to communicate in English. Participants will be asked to complete various study procedures and share information about their health and lifestyle. This study is currently recruiting, and it offers a chance to contribute to important research aimed at preventing obesity in families.

Eligibility criteria
- Inclusion Criteria:
- • Children, adolescents, and young adults (birth through age 24 years) and their nuclear family members\* and adults age 25+ who are expectant parents or are trying to conceive
- • Self-reported resident of Louisiana
- • Ability to understand instructions and complete all study procedures
- • Able to provide informed consent (adults aged over 18 years)
- • Able to provide assent (children 9 to 17 years)
- • Able to communicate (oral and written) in English
- Exclusion Criteria:
- • Discretion of the Medical Monitor or Principal Investigator
