ClinConnect Summary

The TwySHE clinical trial is designed to find out if a special program called a "mhealth peer navigator intervention" can help young women at risk for HIV in Zambia use preventive medication called PrEP. This trial focuses on female university students between the ages of 18 and 24 who have not been diagnosed with HIV but report having multiple risk factors for the virus. Participants in the program will be paired with a trained peer navigator who will provide support, education, and assistance in accessing PrEP and other sexual and reproductive health services.

To join the trial, women must be current university students aged 18 to 24 and have reported at least three behaviors that put them at risk for HIV. Participants will complete surveys at the beginning of the study, and again at six and twelve months, to help researchers understand how effective the program is in promoting the use of PrEP. The study is currently recruiting eligible participants, and it aims to improve health behaviors and outcomes for young women at risk of HIV.
