ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how brain changes might relate to a painful condition called trigeminal neuralgia (TN). TN causes severe facial pain, and this study will use MRI (a type of scan that takes detailed images of the brain) to examine how the brain's structure and connections change in these patients. The goal is to understand these changes better and how they might connect to the pain and symptoms that patients experience.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be diagnosed with TN and have not found relief from standard medications like carbamazepine or oxcarbazepine. They should be right-handed and have no significant loss of sensation in their face. Unfortunately, people with certain conditions, such as other types of chronic pain or a history of head trauma, cannot join. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo an MRI to help researchers learn more about the brain's response to TN and potentially improve treatment options in the future. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to gather important information about this challenging condition.
