ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two methods for taking tissue samples from the lungs to help diagnose a condition called sarcoidosis, which causes inflammation in various parts of the body, primarily the lungs. The study specifically looks at whether using a technique called cryo-biopsy, which freezes tissue to collect samples, is more effective than the traditional forceps biopsy, which uses small tools to grab tissue pieces. Both methods will be used along with another procedure called EBUS-TBNA, which helps doctors get samples from nearby lymph nodes. Researchers hope that using cryo-biopsy will provide better samples for diagnosis and that combining these methods will improve the overall accuracy of diagnosing sarcoidosis.
To participate in this trial, you must be an adult over 18 years old with suspected pulmonary sarcoidosis and scheduled for the routine EBUS-TBNA procedure. Unfortunately, individuals with certain health conditions, like diabetes or chronic liver disease, or those currently taking steroid medications, cannot join the study. If you are eligible and choose to participate, you can expect to undergo these biopsy procedures, which will help doctors gather better information about your condition and improve future diagnoses for sarcoidosis.
