ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Pain With Dementia," is focused on helping older adults who have mild to moderate dementia and experience ongoing pain. The goal is to create a training program that teaches caregivers how to help these patients cope with pain more effectively while they live at home. The study will involve 30 pairs of patients and their caregivers, totaling 60 people, although it is not yet recruiting participants.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be at least 50 years old, speak English, and have had pain on most days for the last three months that affects their daily activities. They should also have mild to moderate dementia and live at home. Caregivers must be at least 18 years old, provide care for the patient for at least four hours a day, and also speak English. Participants can expect to engage in a program designed to improve their quality of life by managing pain better, but they should not have severe health issues that would prevent them from taking part.
