ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into the needs and feelings of siblings who have a brother or sister with cancer. Many of these siblings face unique challenges, such as feeling lonely, worried about their sibling's health, and dealing with the fear of losing them. Unfortunately, their needs are often overlooked, which can lead to emotional distress. The study aims to create and test new tools that can help identify the specific needs and grief experiences of these siblings in Sweden, so they can receive better support during a difficult time.
To participate in the trial, siblings aged 12 to 24 who speak Swedish and have a brother or sister with childhood cancer are invited to join. Participants will complete surveys that ask about their feelings and experiences. These surveys will help researchers understand what siblings need and how they cope. It’s important to note that siblings who have already lost a brother or sister are not eligible for this study. Overall, this research hopes to improve the support available for siblings of children with cancer, ensuring they are not forgotten during their family's challenging journey.
