ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how support from significant others—like family members or close friends—can help patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) stick to healthy habits and take their medications as prescribed. The researchers want to find out if having this kind of support can make a positive difference in managing hypertension compared to standard care without that extra help.
To participate, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, have been diagnosed with hypertension, and currently be taking at least one blood pressure medication. It's also important that you have a significant other who can join you in the study. Both you and your support person will be involved in activities that encourage healthy behaviors, such as reminders to take your medication, reduce salt intake, and exercise more. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to help improve the health and well-being of patients with hypertension through supportive relationships.
