ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how blood pressure affects blood flow to the brain during general anesthesia, which is the state of controlled unconsciousness used during surgery. Researchers want to find out what blood pressure levels are best to ensure that the brain receives enough blood and oxygen while patients are under anesthesia. By using MRI scans, they hope to map this relationship and improve how doctors manage brain blood flow during surgeries.

To participate in this trial, you should be between the ages of 18 and 65, have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 29.9, and be scheduled for elective surgery. If you join, you will first meet with an anesthesiologist and have an MRI scan while awake before your surgery, which is safe and takes about 30 minutes. After your surgery, you will have another MRI scan while still under anesthesia. Throughout the process, your blood pressure and other vital signs will be closely monitored. Participation carries some risks, but experienced medical staff will be with you to ensure your safety. Your personal information will be kept private and secure.
