ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well surgery can help patients with problems related to arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs), which are connections made between an artery and a vein for patients on hemodialysis. Specifically, it looks at patients who have developed pseudo-aneurysms—abnormal enlargements of the blood vessel that can cause pain, risk of infection, or difficulty using the fistula for treatment. The goal is to see how successful the surgery is in fixing these issues and keeping the AVF open and functional after the procedure.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have specific problems with their AVF, such as skin changes or significant enlargement that makes it hard to use. However, patients with severe health problems or certain other conditions will not be included. Those who join the study can expect to undergo surgery and will be monitored afterward to assess the success of the procedure. It's important to note that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so those interested will need to wait until it begins.
