ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new system called the Endotracheal Tube Position Anomaly Alerting System (ETPAAS). The main goal is to find out if this system helps doctors and nurses notice when an endotracheal tube, which is a tube used to help patients breathe, is not positioned correctly in patients who are in the intensive care unit (ICU). By using ETPAAS, researchers hope to reduce the time that these tubes are misplaced, which can lead to complications for patients. They will also look at how easy the system is to use and how satisfied healthcare workers are with it.
To be eligible to participate, patients need to be at least 18 years old and admitted to the ICU. Those who do not want to take part in the study will not be included. Participants will receive the usual care they would get in the ICU, with some receiving care along with the ETPAAS system. Throughout the study, researchers will check how long tubes are misplaced and will ask healthcare workers about their experiences using the system. This research is important as it may improve patient safety and care in critical situations.
