ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different positions during a cesarean delivery can affect a mother's blood circulation after receiving spinal anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia is a common way to numb the lower body during surgery, but it can sometimes cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, which can be risky for both the mother and the baby. Traditionally, mothers are placed flat on their backs right after the anesthesia, but this study is exploring whether keeping them in a sitting or semi-sitting position for a little while first could help keep their blood pressure steadier. By comparing these two positioning strategies, researchers hope to find out which one leads to better health outcomes for mothers and their babies.

To be eligible for this trial, women must be between 18 and 40 years old and scheduled for an elective cesarean delivery. They should also be in good health, without serious medical conditions like heart disease or severe pregnancy complications. Participants can expect to be part of a study that aims to improve safety during cesarean deliveries, helping healthcare providers create better practices for future mothers. It's important to know that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there may be a wait before it starts.
