ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how using a hand fan can help patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) feel better, especially when it comes to breathing difficulties (dyspnea), and also how they view their illness and their feelings of anxiety and depression. The study will involve 56 volunteers with COPD who will be placed into two groups: one group will use a hand fan for 10 minutes every day for six weeks, while the other group will continue with their usual care without the fan. Researchers will measure how each group feels about their breathing, their illness, and their emotional well-being before and after the six weeks.
To join the study, participants should be aged 65 to 74 and able to understand and communicate well. They should not have had a worsening of their COPD in the past month. This trial is important because it explores a simple, non-medical way to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life for people living with COPD. If you or a loved one are interested, please consider reaching out for more information about participating.
