ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a special program involving Infection Control Link Nurses can help improve how well nurses follow important safety practices to prevent infections in hospitals. These Link Nurses are experienced nurses who will be trained to encourage their colleagues to use protective measures, like wearing gloves and masks, and to wash their hands properly. The researchers want to find out if having these Link Nurses leads to better hand hygiene among healthcare workers and ultimately reduces the number of infections that patients get while in the hospital.
To participate in this study, nurses working full-time in selected hospital units will be eligible, as long as they can sign a consent form. The trial will last for 12 months, during which the participating nurses will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their adherence to safety practices, and their hand hygiene will be observed by trained staff. The study aims to compare the results from the group where the Link Nurses are active with another group that continues with the usual practices, helping to determine if this program can make a real difference in hospital infection rates.
