ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of the Lighthouse Parenting Programme, which aims to help parents in China who are facing difficulties with parenting their children aged 2 to 14 years. The program includes both group and individual sessions over five weeks, totaling ten sessions. In the group sessions, parents will meet once a week for an hour and a half to learn about psychological skills related to parenting, followed by practice exercises and discussions. After this, each parent will have a one-hour individual session each week to further support their learning and address their specific challenges.
To be eligible for this trial, parents must have children within the specified age range and show that they are experiencing significant parenting stress. However, parents dealing with serious medical conditions or acute mental health issues may not be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, parents who join will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills to improve their parenting, and those in the control group will receive the same support after the initial group has completed the program.
