ClinConnect Summary
The "Promoting Active Therapy: Path to Wellness" clinical trial is studying how spending time in nature and engaging in physical activity can help improve symptoms of depression and anxiety in adults. Over 10 weeks, therapists will work with clients outdoors during weekly sessions, combining therapy with walking and talking in nature. This study aims to see if this approach can make a positive difference in mental health compared to those who continue with traditional therapy indoors.
To participate, you must be a current client of one of the participating therapists, have a diagnosed depression or anxiety disorder, and be able to safely do moderate exercise. If you qualify, you'll be randomly assigned to either the nature-based therapy group or a control group. The study is currently recruiting participants of all genders between the ages of 65 and 74 or 23 and 740, and it's important that you are committed to completing the study requirements. If you're considering participating, this could be a chance to explore a new way to support your mental health while enjoying the benefits of being outdoors.
