ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special type of orthodontic appliance called auxiliary segmental lingual appliances. The goal is to see how effective these appliances are in correcting a specific dental issue known as a deep Curve of Wilson at the second molars in patients who are already receiving braces. In simpler terms, the Curve of Wilson relates to the way your teeth are aligned in your mouth. This study will involve patients who have this misalignment and will compare results from one side of the mouth receiving the new appliance while the other side does not.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 65 to 74 who are currently undergoing labial fixed orthodontic treatment and have the deep Curve of Wilson issue on both sides of their mouth. Patients must also be comfortable with the procedure and able to give their consent. Throughout the study, participants can expect to have their teeth measured at different stages to see how well the appliance works over time. It's important to note that people with certain limitations, like difficulty opening their mouths, may not be able to participate.
