ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a specific pain management technique, called a Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block, can affect the bond between mothers and their newborns after a cesarean section. After having a cesarean delivery, managing pain effectively is important not just for the mother’s recovery but also for how well she connects with her baby. The TAP block is a method used to numb the area around the abdomen, which has been shown to help reduce pain after surgery. While we know it helps with pain relief, this study aims to see specifically how it might influence the mother-infant bonding experience.
To participate in this study, women aged 18 and older who are pregnant and have had a healthy pregnancy can join, provided they agree to take part. Unfortunately, those under 18, with certain medical conditions, or with allergies to local anesthetics won't be eligible. If you take part in the trial, you can expect to receive the TAP block after your cesarean delivery and then be monitored to see how it impacts your ability to bond with your baby. This research is important because understanding how pain management affects maternal-infant bonding can help improve care for new mothers.
