ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how patients with melanoma in the nail bed can have their nails reconstructed after surgery. Traditionally, the standard treatment for this type of melanoma involved removing the entire finger or toe. However, researchers have found that, in some cases, a larger removal of just the affected nail area can be effective. The study will focus on patients who have had this enlarged removal and then received reconstruction using special materials and techniques, specifically the INTEGRA dermal matrix and skin grafts.

To participate in the trial, patients should have had this type of nail surgery due to acral melanoma affecting their fingers or toes, and they may have had immediate or delayed reconstruction afterward. Unfortunately, those who have had an amputation or do not wish to take part in the study cannot join. If you or someone you know is eligible, participants can expect to be part of a study that may help improve the understanding and methods of treating melanoma in the nail area, potentially leading to better outcomes for future patients.
