ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to detect oral cancer and other serious mouth conditions using a smartphone app that uses advanced technology called deep learning. The researchers want to find out if this app can identify problems in the mouth as accurately as traditional methods used by dentists and other healthcare providers. They will compare three different groups: one group will use the smartphone app alone, another group will have a dentist using the app, and the last group will have general practitioners using the app.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult aged 18 or older and visiting a cancer screening center. However, if you have difficulty opening your mouth wide or cannot follow instructions during the assessment, you may not be eligible. Participants will also answer some questions about risk factors for oral cancer, like smoking or drinking alcohol. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to improve how oral cancer and related conditions are diagnosed, which could lead to better outcomes for patients.
