ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how immersive virtual reality and relaxing videos can help lung cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy. The researchers want to see if these methods can reduce symptoms like nausea and distress, and improve the overall quality of life for patients receiving a specific chemotherapy treatment called Cisplatin and Etoposide. Patients will be divided into three groups: one group will use virtual reality, another will watch relaxing videos, and the third group will receive standard care without these additional therapies.
To participate in this study, individuals must be over 18 years old, diagnosed with lung cancer, and starting chemotherapy for the first time. They should be ready to receive at least two cycles of chemotherapy and agree to take part in the study. Participants can expect to engage with nature-themed virtual reality experiences or watch calming videos during their chemotherapy sessions, which will last for about 30 minutes at a time. This trial is an exciting opportunity to explore new ways to help manage the side effects of treatment and enhance the well-being of lung cancer patients.
