ClinConnect Summary

The Beijing Longitudinal Disability Survey in Community Elderly (BLINDSCE) is a study looking at the health and daily functioning of older adults aged 65 and over who live in the community. The main goals of this research are to identify factors that might increase the risk of disability and cognitive issues, such as memory problems, and to understand how these abilities change over time. This study is important because it can help develop ways to prevent or manage these conditions in older adults.

To participate, you need to be at least 65 years old and living in Beijing. You will need to sign a consent form to join the study, which means you agree to take part after being informed about what it involves. However, if you have serious mental health issues or are receiving long-term treatment for physical or cognitive problems, you may not be eligible to participate. If you join, you can expect to share information about your health and daily activities, which will help researchers learn more about how to support the well-being of older adults in the community.
