ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods of pain relief for patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery. The researchers want to compare the effectiveness of combining two types of nerve blocks: one method that targets a specific area near the knee (the interspace between the popliteal artery and the knee capsule) and another that focuses on the genicular nerves, which are responsible for feeling pain in the knee. They believe that both methods will provide similar pain relief but are also interested in seeing if one method causes fewer side effects, like numbness or weakness in the legs.
To participate in this study, you would need to be between 18 and 70 years old, in generally good health (classified as ASA I to III), and scheduled for knee replacement surgery. However, if you have certain conditions, like severe health issues, allergies to the study medications, or a high body weight (BMI over 40), you may not be eligible to join. If you decide to participate, you'll help researchers understand which pain relief method is more effective and safer for patients like you.
