ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how fasting during the month of Ramadan affects women's cognitive skills, physical abilities, and behaviors. The researchers want to learn about changes in sleep patterns, food habits, body composition (how much fat and muscle someone has), and physical activity levels before, during, and after Ramadan. They hope to understand how these factors relate to fasting, which can help improve health and well-being.
To participate, women aged 65 to 75 who are generally healthy and do not have chronic sleep issues or take sleep medications can join the study. Participants will need to fast for the entire month of Ramadan and must be willing to give their informed consent to take part. If any health problems arise during the fasting period or if someone does not fast consistently, they will not be eligible to continue. Those who join can expect to have their sleep, eating habits, and physical performance assessed at different times throughout the study. This research could provide valuable insights into the impacts of fasting on women's health.
