ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating how well alpha-blocker therapy can help men who experience discomfort and urinary symptoms, like pain while urinating (dysuria), after undergoing a specific prostate surgery called Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). Although HoLEP is known to be effective and has a low risk of complications, many patients still report bothersome symptoms in the first few months after the procedure. The trial aims to see if taking alpha-blockers can improve these symptoms and enhance overall quality of life for patients.

To be eligible for this study, men aged 40 to 85 who have had HoLEP surgery can participate. However, those with certain conditions, such as prostate cancer or previous prostate surgeries, will not be included. Participants can expect to receive treatment with alpha-blockers and will be monitored to see how well this helps reduce their symptoms and improve their satisfaction with the outcomes of the surgery. This research is important because it could provide new insights into managing urinary issues after HoLEP, ultimately helping many men lead more comfortable lives after their procedure.
