ClinConnect Summary
This study is testing two CPR training approaches to see which helps private home nurses in Qatar learn and use CPR better. Nurses will be randomly assigned to either a VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning–based program or a Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle program. The main goal is to measure how much their CPR knowledge and practical skills improve from before training to right after training and then at 6 months and 9 months afterward. The key measure is a short knowledge test (0–15 points) plus a practical skills checklist, with scores above 60% considered satisfactory.
About who can join: private home care nurses in Qatar who are interested, speak English well, and have not received formal CPR training in the past 6 months (and are under 60 years old). Up to about 134 nurses may participate, and the study will take place in Doha at Hamad Medical Corporation. If you join, you’ll have a brief pre-assessment, followed by a 5-hour training session split into a short briefing, a lecture, and hands-on CPR practice. You’ll then be tested immediately after training and again at 6 and 9 months. Participation is voluntary and confidential, and researchers plan to share findings to improve community CPR training.
