ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at new techniques used by osteopathic practitioners to help patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a serious lung condition that makes it hard to breathe. Specifically, the study will test the effectiveness of methods like rib rising, thoracic lymphatic pump, and manual diaphragmatic release. These techniques aim to improve breathing and overall lung function in patients suffering from moderate to severe COPD.

To be part of this trial, participants need to be stable COPD patients aged between 55 and 75 who have been on consistent medication. They should also have a history of smoking that is not too severe. However, those with certain conditions, like recent chest surgery, cancer, or severe osteoporosis, won't be eligible. If chosen to participate, individuals can expect to receive these specialized osteopathic treatments and will be monitored throughout the study to see how well the techniques work for their breathing issues. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to contribute valuable insights into managing COPD more effectively.
