ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of two different types of sutures used to close the incision after an emergency surgery called midline laparotomy. This kind of surgery is often performed to address serious conditions like hernias or organ injuries. The researchers want to find out if using PDS® or Monomax® sutures makes a difference in how well the wound heals and if there are any complications after surgery.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for an emergency midline laparotomy. Unfortunately, if you've had this surgery before, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to have your incision closed with one of the two types of sutures, and your recovery will be monitored to see how well it goes. This research aims to help doctors make better decisions about which sutures to use in the future, ultimately improving patient care.
