ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new method for managing pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery, which is a type of minimally invasive surgery to treat shoulder problems. The focus is on a technique called the Serratus Posterior Superior Intercostal Plane Block (SPSIPB). This method aims to provide effective pain relief without relying heavily on opioids, which can cause side effects like drowsiness, nausea, and constipation. The trial hopes to demonstrate that SPSIPB can help patients feel more comfortable and recover faster after their surgery.

To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 75 and be scheduled for arthroscopic shoulder surgery under general anesthesia. You should be in good health according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification, which means you have no major health issues. However, if you have a history of bleeding disorders, are on blood-thinning medications, or have allergies to local anesthetics or opioids, you may not be eligible to join. If you participate, you can expect to receive the SPSIPB before your surgery to help manage your pain, and the goal is to enhance your recovery experience.
