ClinConnect Summary
The WISH 2.0 trial is a study designed to explore how a special program focused on positive thinking and well-being can help people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). This program, called "WISH," will be compared to a standard educational program to see which one is more effective in improving the health and happiness of patients with IBS. The study will look at how acceptable and beneficial the WISH program is, as well as how it might work in connection with the gut and brain.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult aged 65 to 74 with a diagnosed case of IBS. You should be able to communicate in English and have access to a phone. However, if you have serious mental health issues, such as a current manic episode or active substance use disorder, or if you have cognitive impairment, you won't be eligible to join. Participants will engage in the WISH program, and throughout the study, they can expect to share their experiences and feedback, helping researchers understand how the program can support others facing similar challenges.
