ClinConnect Summary
The "BEING Mindful" study is exploring how mindfulness practices, like meditation and yoga, can help reduce stress and feelings of burnout among faculty and staff at the University of New Mexico College of Nursing. The researchers aim to see if these mindfulness activities can improve participants' sense of belonging and even affect their physical health, specifically looking at heart rate variability, which can indicate how well the body is handling stress.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old, in good health, and employed at the College of Nursing in New Mexico. You should also be able to attend six in-person sessions over six weeks and have a smartphone. Participants will be divided into two groups—one for mindfulness meditation and the other for yoga. Throughout the study, participants will complete assessments before and after the intervention to help researchers understand how these practices affect their well-being. If you're looking for a way to feel more connected and manage stress better, this study might be a great opportunity!
