ClinConnect Summary
The VIP - Vascular Infection Project is a clinical trial aimed at studying infections that occur in blood vessels, especially conditions like aortitis (inflammation of the aorta) and infections related to vascular grafts (artificial blood vessels used in surgeries). The goal of this study is to gather important information about how these infections are treated and managed in different healthcare settings. By collecting data on patients' medical care, surgeries, and recovery, researchers hope to better understand these serious infections and improve treatment options for patients in the future.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a vascular infection, whether it’s a native infection like aortitis or an infection related to a prosthetic device such as a graft or stent. Participants will be asked to provide their consent and will be a part of a larger group of patients being studied. This is an observational study, which means that while participants will receive standard treatment for their condition, the focus is on collecting data rather than testing a new medication or therapy. If you or a loved one are experiencing these types of infections, this trial may provide an opportunity to contribute to important research that could benefit others in the future.
