ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of using chlorhexidine, a type of antiseptic, compared to saline (a simple saltwater solution) for cleaning the surgical area during colorectal cancer surgery. The goal is to see which method better reduces the risk of infections and other complications that can happen after the surgery. The trial is currently looking for participants who are between 18 and 85 years old and have certain types of colorectal tumors that can be surgically removed.
To be eligible for this study, participants must not have any serious health issues that would prevent surgery, like severe liver or kidney problems. They also shouldn't have had other types of cancer in the past five years or have participated in other clinical trials recently. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive either chlorhexidine or saline during your surgery, and the medical team will monitor your recovery to see how well you do. This study aims to find the best way to help patients heal after surgery and reduce the risk of infections.
